We understand you may have questions for the dentist and would like to help answer some of them below. At Luminous Dental Studio, our mission is to provide the best dental care in Frisco, Texas, and welcome you to contact us to learn more about our practice and Dr. Minho Chang and Dr. Nam Kim.

When I should visit the dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends visiting a dentist every six months or more, depending on your past dental health. Regular checkups help prevent many common oral issues from developing, such as cavities and gum disease. When you allow our dental professionals to give you an exam and take X-rays, they can diagnose and treat issues during the earliest stages.

I have a toothache. Do I need a root canal?

Possibly. Root canals are safe and help to eliminate any infection; we seal the canals to prevent further bacteria from entering and allow your return to oral health. If you have sensitive teeth that is worse with temperature change, call us promptly.

What is periodontal disease?

Gum disease develops when plaque or tartar starts to build along the gumline, which effects the soft tissue negatively, thus resulting in red, swollen, and bleeding gums when you brush. In its earliest stages, gum disease is usually reversible with treatment and consistent maintenance. Contact us if you have symptoms or signs of gum disease.

Does teeth-whitening work?

Today’s teeth whitening systems can transform your smile, brightening your teeth multiple shades and resulting in brilliant, shiny teeth. Of course, it would be best to consult with the dentist to ensure the treatment is right for you.

Are implant dentures better than regular dentures?

For many patients, they can be, but there is never a one-size-fits-all solution in dental care. Dental implants are considered a more natural restoration because they restore both the root structure and the crown of lost teeth. Traditional dentures rely on suction between the jawbone and the denture to remain in place. Dental implants offer increased stability for a more natural look and feel.

Do you see new patients during dental emergencies?

Absolutely. If you live in or around Frisco, we invite you to contact us right away during a dental emergency. We’re happy to help whenever patients need us.

Do you take my insurance?
Our knowledgeable team processes and files claims for most major dental insurance providers, and we are in-network with many of the PPO benefit plans.
